CISD Bond Pushing Forward
With early voting ending, Corsicana ISD officials are focused on educating residents and urging them to go vote on Nov. 4.
Corsicana ISD voters are being asked to consider a $49.67 million bond for security enhancements, a new middle school, and campus improvements throughout the district.
Investing in education improves a community in many aspects.
“A strong successful school district benefits the entire community by providing an educated work force, attracting good businesses and protecting property values,” said Eric Meyers, president of Oil City Iron Works. “This bond package provides necessary components that will benefit our children as well as our community. Corsicana High School has embraced career and technical programs for career and college readiness introduced in House Bill 5. The bond package includes efforts to enhance these programs’ facilities.”
In addition to many business leaders, the Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce also supports the school district bond. This article is the third in a series of articles written to inform voters of the 2014 Corsicana ISD Bond Proposal on the ballot for Nov. 4.
