Last Day of School for Students

CISD to End One Day Early for Students

The Corsicana Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to end the school year on Thursday, June 2 for students at regular dismissal time. The original academic calendar had the last day of school indicated as June 3.

With recent state legislation changes, school districts are now required to count minutes instead of days. This decision allowed some districts flexibility in determining the last day of school. The CISD Board opted to end school one day earlier for students.

Teachers and staff will report to their assigned campuses on Friday, June 3. The Corsicana Education Foundation will host the annual CISD End-of-Year Awards and Celebration on Friday afternoon, and CHS graduation will continue as planned at Tiger Stadium at 8 p.m.

“We appreciate the Board’s consideration and decision to end a day earlier. I am sure our students will appreciate the early opportunity to begin their summer,” said Dr. Diane Frost, Superintendent of CISD.
