Brittany Mathis named new principal

I was born and raised in Corsicana, Texas. My husband and I have been together 21 years, but married for 16 (on July 5th). We have one child; he is our little miracle baby. I love working with children and knew that I wanted to be in education at a very young age. My career with CISD started in 2012 at Carroll Elementary. I taught fifth grade (2 years) fourth grade (2 years) and later became an interventionist (3 years). Being an interventionist allowed me to see a bigger picture. It was then when I realized that I wanted to make a difference in the lives of not only students, but teachers as well. This is what lead me to educational leadership. After obtaining my principal certification, I was offered an assistant principal position at the middle school and I accepted. Being there for three years ignited a even deeper passion for impacting students and teachers. Now, I am here at Navarro…the place where I completed a majority of my student teaching. I am beyond excited about this new journey. This is the journey where we reignite the dream for teaching and learning…Together We Can…Together We Will.
