Bowie Special Education Expectations
Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for sharing your child with me. I will do everything in my power to help him or her reach his or her full potential. I understand that if students are appropriately engaged and taught on their level, behavior problems are kept to a minimum. When it comes to classroom management, I believe in positive behavior supports.
I ask that you join me in my effort to help your child be successful both academically and behaviorally. Below, I have outlined the Bowie Basics. The Bowie Basics are my classroom expectations. All expectations will be explicitly taught and reinforced for the benefit of all. Due to the increase of academic rigor and the use of grades, it is imperative that the learning environment is both safe and orderly in order for student success to occur.

I ask that you celebrate your child’s positive behavior and accomplishments, yet hold them to the high expectations in which they are capable of achieving both academically and behaviorally.
