Meet the Counselor

Thank you for visiting my webpage. My name is Madison Medrano, I am a certified School Counselor in Early Childhood through Twelfth grade as well as a certified teacher in English as a Second Language for Early Childhood through Sixth grade. I taught Kindergarten and First grade at Fannin Elementary for four years before working at Rice High School as an Academic Advisor for two years. This is my fourth year at Bowie Elementary. I am so excited and I know we are going to have a fantastic year!

As a former Corsicana ISD and Bowie Elementary student, I am beyond thrilled to be dedicating my time to the community that helped shape me. I am looking forward to getting to know and working with each and every student on this campus.

My goal as a school counselor is to create and implement a meaningful comprehensive guidance program that allows me to become a voice and advocate for my students while also meeting the personal, social, educational and career development needs of all students. This program will establish expectations, goals, experiences and most importantly, support systems for all students. This program will be most successful with the support of the school system, faculty, community, and parents and family. I pledge to always participate in professional development relative to this capacity to ensure knowledge and best practices. It is also a goal to always carry myself with the upmost respect, professionalism and holding myself to all ethical and legal standards.

"You just have to have the guidance to lead you in the direction until you can do it yourself." Tina Yothers
