• CISD Clothing Center and Compassion Corsicana CISD Clothing Center to Partner with Compassion Corsicana

Corsicana ISD has partnered with Compassion Corsicana to take over the operation of the CISD Clothing Center.  The Clothing Center, located across from the Drane Learning Center, provides new and gently used school clothing for students in need.  The partnership will allow for Compassion Corsicana to service CISD students and families in need of standardized clothing in addition to other services if needed.  The Clothing Center has been in operation for more than 10 years.  Students will continue to receive clothing at no cost.

Compassion Corsicana is a newly formed organization that has taken in the existing House of Refuge, Navarro County Food Pantry and Family Services to create an all-encompassing ministry to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, supply material items to the needy, minister to the prisoners and sick, and provide educational classes and resources.  The CISD Clothing Center is one part of this organization’s mission.

Students or families in need of clothing items should see the front office of their CISD campus to receive information and a clothing voucher that verifies the student’s enrollment.  Compassion Corsicana will take over the Clothing Center facility and operation on Feb. 1, 2018.

“Students in need will continue to be served with school clothing at no cost.  We are fortunate to partner with this non-profit organization that will assist our families with school clothes as well as other services,” said Dr. Diane Frost, Superintendent at CISD.

Compassion Corsicana will take donations for new and gently used standardized clothing items.  Belts, shorts, pants, skirts, shirts and tops in the standardized clothing colors – bottoms: tan, khaki, black, navy blue, and tops: royal blue, light blue, gold, navy, white and black.  In addition, jackets, coats, new sneakers and new socks in all sizes are always welcome.

The Clothing Center has existed on clothing donations from students, community, local business, as well as monetary donations from organization fundraisers, and local trusts and foundations.  Compassion Corsicana will continue to provide an inventory of school clothes for students in addition to overseeing distribution.  Compassion Corsicana will operate the clothing center located at 910 W. 5th Ave. Monday-Friday.  Until building modifications are completed, the Compassion Corsicana Clothing Center will be open Mon-Wed 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
