    There are so many great things happening in Corsicana Independent School District that we are launching a new feature called Tiger Spotlight. Each week, this space will feature a story about a Corsicana student, program, school or employee who is making a difference and upholding the values and mission of CISD. We cannot wait to introduce the greater Corsicana community to these Tigers in the spotlight.

  • Tiger Spotlight - Licensed Specialists in School Psychology LSSP

    Behind the scenes in Corsicana schools are five individuals with the awesome responsibility of assessing the cognitive, academic and psychological needs of students as well as supporting teachers as they work in sometimes difficult and challenging circumstances. These unsung heroes are Licensed Specialists in School Psychology or LSSPs.

  • Tiger Spotlight - Pearlie Hall, Cafeteria Manager

    Helping other people and giving back to the community where she grew up are two things that have motivated Pearlie Hall for nearly two and a half decades. It’s her smiling face and happy disposition that greets staff and students to the lunchroom every day at Collins Intermediate School.

    It’s not easy to start classes at a new school during a worldwide pandemic, but this week’s Tiger Spotlight student from Collins Intermediate not only makes it look easy, her kindness and attitude are catching the attention of the students and adults on campus!

    It’s not just a cliché to say that the Corsicana High School cross-country team has become like a family. The coaches for the program have been extremely impressed with the way these Tiger athletes take care of and support one another.

  • Tiger Spotlight - Sam Houston Elementary, where No One Walks Alone

    They have a saying at Sam Houston Elementary School – “No One Walks Alone.” It’s a mantra that the students and staff live by and one Principal Dallas Horne says sets the campus apart, along with the unique architecture of the school building which features ornate crown molding lining the hallways and gargoyles around the outside of the building that are caricatures of famous authors and writers.

  • Tiger Spotlight – CTE instructor & esports coach Logan Groce

    Logan Groce knew there was just one place he wanted to settle down and raise a family, the community where he grew up and graduated as a Tiger in the Class of 2009, Corsicana, Texas. Today, as a husband, father and classroom teacher, Groce is giving back to a district that helped raise him during his formative years. He started the district's esports program and he is standing tall to support students in this week's Tiger Spotlight.

  • Mishima Cross-Cultural Exchange Program

    It’s clear just a few minutes into a conversation with Corsicana resident Heather Farmakis that she is committed to providing cross-cultural experiences for students and adults, alike. Her eyes light up at mention of the partnership between Corsicana Independent School District and the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) that connected local high school students with their peers in Mishima, Japan this past August.

  • The Penguin Project - Eve Dixon and Bailey Cook

    Corsicana ISD’s extraordinary theatre program for students with “different abilities” is making headlines again. This time two members of last school year’s Annie Jr. cast, Eve Dixon and Bailey Cook, have been awarded prestigious scholarships for their part as mentors in the Penguin Project.
