Welcome to my teacher webpage.  As I begin my 45rd year of teaching Spanish, I am excited about the accomplishments of the CISD Spanish classes all the way from Collins Intermediate to Corsicana Middle School to Corsicana High School. We all work closely together to make sure that the students that we teach get a rigorous and challenging education in Spanish.  As communication and culture have become such an important part of the language, we try to include those into the daily lessons that we teach.

I am a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio where I majored in Spanish and French.  Before attending Trinity, I lived in Durango, Durango, Mexico where I attended the Colegio Americano for the last 2 years of high school.  From there I went to the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and studied Spanish, French, and Italian.  I met my husband, Don Jones at Trinity University and after graduating in 1976, I began teaching and have loved it more and more as the years have gone by.   My husband is originally from Corsicana, and we decided to move back here in 1996 so our 2 sons, Curt and Stan could attend school in Corsicana and graduate from CHS.  Our younger son, Stan Jones is married to Brandy Palos Jones (our daughter) and we are also the proud grandparents of  2 granddaughters and 1 grandson.  Come check out the pictures in my room!!!!

I have a passion for teaching and working with young people so I hope that either you, as parents, or your child will feel free to come see me if they need any help in my class.  I look forward to communicating with each of you at some point during the school year.
