The Corsicana ISD Health Services Staff believes that the ability for students to achieve academic success is directly related to the status of health. Corsicana ISD understands this and provides a professional school nurse on every campus to promote health and provide continuity of care for all students.

Important Notice
The 89th Texas Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 12, requiring school districts to notify parents and guardians of health-related services provided to students in the school setting. This legislation also affirms a parent’s right to withhold consent for, or to opt out of, these services.
Health Services Provided to Corsicana ISD students in the school setting:
- Illness and injury assessment and first aid, including emergency intervention
- Prescription medication administration, with a doctor’s order AND parent/guardian consent
- Over-the-counter medication administration, with parent/guardian consent
- State-mandated screenings
- Management of chronic medical conditions
- State-mandated immunization compliance review and management
- Health education and wellness promotion
