CISD students train for academic UIL excellence
Corsicana High School teachers recently accompanied more than a dozen students to the UIL Students Activities Conference at the University of Texas in Austin to attend workshops and learn methods for advancing in various events.
English teacher Mahailey Oliver, science teacher Anna Kasprzyk, and 15 students enjoyed visiting the college campus and getting the chance to learn from UIL representatives and educators from around the state.
CISD Academic UIL and Fine Arts Director Aimee Kasprzyk was also a presenter who led multiple sessions.
Oliver said the conference is the second one she and her students attended this semester and participation has drastically increased.
“We are so excited to see our Tigers continue to excel and grow in this program,” she said.

Los maestros de la Preparatoria Corsicana acompañaron recientemente a más de una docena de estudiantes a la Conferencia de actividades de estudiantes de UIL en la Universidad de Texas en Austin para asistir a talleres y aprender métodos para avanzar en varios eventos.
La maestra de inglés Mahailey Oliver, la maestra de ciencias Anna Kasprzyk y 15 estudiantes disfrutaron visitando el campus de la universidad y teniendo la oportunidad de aprender de los representantes de UIL y educadores de todo el estado.
La directora académica de UIL y Bellas Artes de CISD, Aimee Kasprzyk, también fue una presentadora que dirigió varias sesiones.
Oliver dijo que la conferencia es la segunda a la que ella y sus estudiantes asisten este semestre y la participación ha aumentado drásticamente.
"Estamos muy emocionados de ver que nuestros Tigres continúan sobresaliendo y creciendo en este programa", dijo.
