Corsicana ISD receives Salvation Army’s top Red Kettle Drive award
At a reception honoring volunteers who donated their time to help those needing assistance in our community during the holidays, Corsicana ISD earned the top overall award at Thursday evening’s Red Kettle Campaign Reception at The Salvation Army. The district raised more than $10,000 for the charitable organization.
Superintendent Stephanie Howell made community engagement and service a focal point after her hire in April of 2024.
Staff members across a number of departments, organizations, and athletic programs from Corsicana ISD came together to support the drive in December. The programs included the board of trustees, central administrative staff, Special Programs, child nutrition, Junior ROTC, football, both girls and boys basketball at both high school and middle school levels, softball, cross country, golf, soccer, elementary staff, and others.
Corsicana ISD combined for 176 volunteer hours during the campaign, and raised $10,818.86 while on duty. JROTC senior Jessica Angel received special praise for three years of collection and organizational efforts while at Corsicana High School.
Those in attendance for the reception included Mrs. Howell, Board President Brad Farmer, Athletic Director/Football Coach Eugene Rogers, JROTC Master Sgt. Corey Vandiver and student cadets, CHS and Corsicana Middle School Choir Director Lecretia Brandon, and CMS Coach Trina Green.

En una recepción en honor a los voluntarios que donaron su tiempo para ayudar a quienes necesitaban asistencia en nuestra comunidad durante las fiestas, el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Corsicana recibió el máximo galardón general en la Recepción de la Campaña Red Kettle, celebrada el jueves por la noche en el Ejército de Salvación. El distrito recaudó más de $10,000 para la organización benéfica.

El personal de varios departamentos, organizaciones y programas deportivos del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Corsicana se unió para apoyar la campaña en diciembre. Los programas incluyeron la junta directiva, el personal administrativo central, Programas Especiales, nutrición infantil, Junior ROTC, fútbol americano, baloncesto femenino y masculino de preparatoria y secundaria, sóftbol, campo a través, golf, fútbol, personal de primaria y otros.
El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Corsicana en conjunto realizó 176 horas de voluntariado durante la campaña y recaudó $10,818.86 durante su tiempo de servicio. Jessica Angel, estudiante de último año del JROTC, recibió un reconocimiento especial por sus tres años de trabajo de recolección y organización en la Escuela Preparatoria Corsicana.
