WELCOME TO MY TEACHER PAGE - HERE IS A SPECIAL NOTICE AND INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING OUR ONLINE TEACHING PERIOD:

During this time of online teaching, I will be responding to emails immediately for those of you who have concerns that need my attention right away seven days per week from 11:00 AM - 12:00 and 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.  If it is a concern that requires us to talk one-on-one, we can exchange phone numbers via e-mail during those times, and I can give you a call.

    Students:

We will be using Canvas for online instruction during this time.  You can log on by going to:

    cisd.helloid.com

Logon is the first 5 letters of your first name followed by the first 3 letters of your second name followed by 000.  This is the same as your email log in; however, DO NOT include the @student.cisd.org.  If you have any trouble, just drop me an email and I can look up your sign on.

Password is your 6 digit ID number.

Once you are at the site, just click on the Canvas icon, and it will take you to our virtual classroom.  From there, click on your "Courses" item found at the left and start learning!!  This is going to be fun!!!

    Welcome!!

My name is Ms. Engler, and I teach Juniors and Seniors (English III and IV).  For Juniors, we will look at American Literature to understand and enjoy the history of American Literature as well as the authors and, of course, the works themselves.  For Seniors, we will do the same for British Literature.

I am thrilled to be teaching at Corsicana High School.  I came at teaching later in life.  I have had a career in finance, much of the time in the construction field.  A few years ago, I went back to college and obtained my English degree and teaching credentials.  Academic year 2018-2019 was my first year of teaching, so I am currently in my 2nd year of teaching.  I LOVE IT!!  I knew I would love the English Literature portion of my position.  I've always been a big reader, but what I didn't anticipate is how much Corsicana kids would open my heart and show me the world through their eyes.  I have been enlightened, and they have taught me so much.

I encourage all students and parents to contact me about any questions or concerns at anytime.  My email is dengler@hotmail.com.  My phone number in the classroom is 903-874-8211; Room E202.  I will be responding to emails immediately for those of your who have concerns that need my attention right away seven days per week from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.  If it is a concern that requires us to talk one-on-one, we can exchange phone numbers via e-mail during those times, and I can give you a call.

It's going to be a great year!  I'm so looking forward to teaching and working with each of the students at the great Corsicana High School.

Students... keep this little idea in mind as you go through your high school grades... you will never forget these times - make them count...
