Miss “The Hustle”? The dance, not the craziness of everyday life. The Corsicana Education Foundation may just have the disco-ball infused night out you need.
The annual CEF Gala is scheduled for Oct. 1, and the theme for this year is “Take Me to the Disco.” It will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. at The Cook Center on the campus of Navarro College.
The dress code? 70s, of course!
Van McCoy may not be on the stage – for those under 70, he composed “The Hustle,” which sold 10 million copies in the ‘70s - but The Afrodisiacs will be. The touring ‘70s-music four-piece will get feet moving and fun times flowing.
Tickets for the event are $125, and include a gourmet dinner and an open bar. There will also be live and silent auctions, and game-worn Tigers football jerseys will be sold, including an autographed jersey from current Indianapolis Colt Trevor Denbow.
The CEF exists to give back to staff and students of the Corsicana ISD. All funds raised will help a number of programs including Innovative Teaching Grants, New Teacher Mini-Grants, Campus Celebrations, CISD Staff End of Year awards Celebration, Senior Field Day, and Top 10% Recognition.
