The Tigers basketball team got a balanced effort to race past Benbrook, 44-39, in their season opener on the road Tuesday. Seven Tigers scored, led by JJ Betts with 12. 

Damarion Kelly and Kameron Mize added nine points each, all on three pointers. As a team, 23 of the Tigers’ 35 shots came from behind the arc. 

The game was tied, 30-30, going into the fourth quarter. 

The Tigers (1-0) host Carrollton R.L. Turner at 1 p.m. Saturday.

El equipo de baloncesto de los Tigres hizo un esfuerzo equilibrado para superar a Benbrook, 44-39, en su primer partido de temporada fuera de casa el martes. Siete Tigres anotaron, liderados por JJ Betts con 12. 

Damarion Kelly y Kameron Mize agregaron nueve puntos cada uno, todos en triples. Como equipo, 23 de los 35 tiros de los Tigres llegaron desde detrás del arco. 

El juego estaba empatado, 30-30, entrando al último cuarto.
