Going above and beyond was just one of the reasons Ericka Janak earned Distinguished Teacher of the Year at Sam Houston Elementary. Among other things, the second-grade teacher pitched in to help tutor a different grade level before STARR testing.
In addition to Teacher of the Year, Principal Dallas Horne also honored the following:
- Paraprofessional of the Year – Laura Barrera
- Volunteer of the Year – Libby Harris
- Tiger Spirit – Diana Rivero
Rising Star winners are announced at the Corsicana ISD End of the Year ceremony.

El ir más allá fue una de las razones por las que Ericka Janak ganó el premio de Maestra Distinguida del Año en la Primaria Sam Houston. Entre otras cosas, la maestra de segundo grado ayudó a dar tutoría a un nivel de grado diferente antes de los exámenes STARR.
