Covid19 update

Dear Corsicana ISD Parents and Guardians

Corsicana ISD administrators have been in continuous communication with state, county and local health officials regarding COVID-19. The District is asking students and staff who have traveled to a country or region with a Level 2 or 3 CDC Travel Health Notice to stay home for 14 days after returning from their trip and contact their school nurse. Regarding attendance, the District will work with students who have traveled to one of the identified areas. Please note that the CDC may update this list to add new countries or regions, so please check the CDC website regularly. Corsicana ISD will make informed decisions based on guidance and recommendations from health authorities and the Texas Education Agency.

The District continues to emphasize the importance for students and staff to stay home if they are ill. Individuals must be fever free for 24 hours, without fever-reducing aids such as Tylenol, Advil, or Ibuprofen. In addition, students should not be vomiting or have had diarrhea for 24 hours prior to returning to school. For individuals who are not ill, we encourage you to continue proper handwashing and good hygiene techniques to prevent the spread of illness.

Corsicana ISD continues to be proactive in providing a safe and clean school environment. Campuses are receiving a thorough cleaning and sanitizing, including:

  • Daily wiping/sanitizing of all flat surfaces, desks, door handles and high-touch areas

  • Use of electrostatic sanitizing sprayers in public areas such as hallways, foyers and cafeterias

  • Increasing the number and availability of hand sanitizers throughout our campuses and buildings

  • Sanitizing and wiping down high-touch areas in school buses daily

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as often as necessary. Thank you, in advance, for working with us to keep all of our students healthy and safe.
