CISD Virtual Instruction Update
Nov. 16, 2020 - CISD's virtual learning options provide many families an opportunity for children t learn remotely. Of the approximately 1,500 students who are currently enrolled online, only half of them are performing at or above grade level. The other half are considered "academically at-risk."
The Texas Education Agency is allowing districts to implement plans to discontinue remote instruction for students who are failing one or more classes and/or have three or more unexcused absences. CISD campus leaders are in the process of providing parents of at-risk students with important information regarding the return-to-campus option for their child(ren). Virtual learning options will continue for students who have demonstrated success, or who have a medical exemption from the campus environment.
Students need to be engaged in lessons and attend school each day to be successful learners. CISD is committed to providing every student with the greatest opportunity to learn. For more information and Medical Exemptions please click here. Please click here.
