Meet married couple Kim and Ben Baker. Kim is in her 15th year as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of Athletics and Ben, a class of 1985 CHS grad, has worked in the Corsicana ISD Maintenance Department for 12 years. The Bakers said there are both advantages and challenges to working just across the street from each other.
“When there is a need for maintenance, I might be able to push a bit more than the average staff member to get something done faster,” Kim joked. “Although, he can also push back more on my work order letting me know that I have no special privileges.”
“Some staff are surprised to learn we are married,” Ben said. “They can’t understand how I talked her into marrying me!”

Conozca al matrimonio formado por Kim y Ben Baker. Kim está en su decimoquinto año como Asistente Administrativa del Director Ejecutivo de Atletismo y Ben, un graduado de CHS de 1985, ha trabajado en el Departamento de Mantenimiento de Corsicana ISD durante 12 años. Los Baker dijeron que trabajar uno frente al otro tiene ventajas y desafíos.
“Cuando hay una necesidad de mantenimiento, yo puedo presionar un poco más que el miembro promedio del personal para hacer algo más rápido”, bromeó Kim. "Aunque también puede retrasar más mi orden de trabajo haciéndome saber que no tengo privilegios especiales".
"Algunos empleados se sorprenden al saber que estamos casados", dijo Ben. "¡No pueden entender cómo la convencí de que se casara conmigo!"
